Disney+ has released a new trailer teasing all of the content coming to the streaming service in December. Today marks the first day of the month and the new streaming platform is adding quite a bit of material today and throughout the week. This obviously includes The Mandalorian which will wrap up its first season this month. The first live-action Star Wars series is featured in the trailer and shows some very brief brand-new footage of the highly acclaimed show. The show will air December 6th, 13th, 18th, and 27th.
Thor: Ragnarok and The Last Jedi are ditching Netflix to move into their new home on Disney+. The MCU movie lands on December 5th, while the Star Wars movie lands on December 26th, which is unfortunately after The Rise of Skywalker opens in theaters. The new streaming platform just launched on November 17th and the latest trailer shows just how much they will be adding per month and it’s pretty impressive for something that has not even been out for a whole month yet.
Disney streaming has already been able to acquire over 10 million subscribers, which was to be expected. However, it is just a drop in the bucket when compared to Netflix, who currently have over 158 million subscribers. Netflix also has been at it a lot longer and has a massive library of favorites and award winning original material. With that being said, it’s only a matter of time before Disney starts to get more attention with the addition of more and more original content. The Marvel Cinematic Universe shows that are currently in development and in production will more than likely go a long way in bringing a lot more people over to the new streaming service. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
December 1st sees the addition of Henry Hugglemonster (seasons 1-2), Miles From Tomorrowland (seasons 1-3), Sheriff Callie’s Wild West (seasons 1-2), Star vs. The Forces of Evil (seasons 1-4), The Lion Guard (season 3), Expedition Amelia, Garfield: The Movie, Glory Road, Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts, Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron, and more. This is all available to stream as of early this morning and there’s a lot more on the way in the weeks to come. One Day At Disney will begin streaming on Tuesday, December 3rd.
Friday December 6th will see The Mandalorian Chapter 5, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series – Episode 105, Encore! – Episode 105, Marvel’s Hero Project – Episode 105, The Imagineering Story – Part 5, The World According to Jeff Goldblum – Episode 105, Disney Family Sundays – Episode 105, One Day At Disney (new shorts), Pixar in Real Life: Finding Dory Aquarium Escape, and Forky Asks A Question “What is Love?” Alice: Through the Looking Glass premieres on December 11th. The following week brings all of the aforementioned shows back, along with SparkShorts: “Wind”
December 20th sees George of the Jungle 2, Togo, and Pick of the Litter – Episode 101 added to Disney+. These all come in addition to the normally released Friday material. The same can be said for the following Friday, which only sees the regular scheduled shows. Marvel’s Spider-Man will be the final addition of the month, landing on December 31st. You can check out all of the releases above, thanks to the Disney YouTube channel.
